If you want the gist of it, well what made me almost die of happiness is that most mental illness is caused by poor diet incudling sensitivives to food additives, sugars (hypolgycemia) and other minor things, like heavy metals (if you have metal fillings try and get them replaced with the other stuff)
i've cut my sugar down to just fruit and one bowl of cereal a day, and all my food is basically the little pictures on the food pyrimid, pure. you get used to it, especially if every medication didn't help. so yeah there is hope, but unlike what i thought there's no magic bullet, this ones a bit harder but it's so worth it.
no no lol thats not all im eating. and waiiiiiiit!! one more question lostwitness. oh well. if you get this, food your allergic to tends to be food your addicted to right?

That's what is typical a lot of the time yes.
I posted a topic on this a while ago, look here: http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-yyytape-support-a.html
Favourite foods are often the offending foods so the patients is like an addict, eating the offending food to obtain a psychiatric high.
I find that quote to be very true based on personal experience. When I eat Dairy I get very stimulated and hyper and I cannot control myself... then I 'crash' and I get really depressed afterward.
Food addictions can also be a sign that you are a deficient in some nutrient. So you crave that food, but at the same time you get a worsening of symptoms after eating it because you are also allergic to it. Say for example you are addicted to milk... it could mean you are allergic to the milk, but your body is also deficient in calcium. It is important to try and discover what nutrient your body needs more of, but at the same time avoid that specific food because the damage it does to you is usually greater than the benefit. A craving for chocolate is usually a deficiency in magnesium.
You can also crave foods simply because you are hypoglycemic and need that sugar high, and need to feed your brain. It isn't an allergy you are dealing with in that situation, but it is still important to avoid sugar to avoid rapid increases and decreases in your blood sugar.

So eating healthy and having a diet filled with fruit, veggies, nuts, cerial etc. is starving your brain? Riiight. Anyways keep it up. Eventually just grabbing the healthy stuff will become a habit, and you will notice your emotions will slowly start to become more stable. It isn't a cure-all, but you will certainly see huge improvements. Remember to keep out an eye for foods your are allergic to, because that is one of the biggest culprits to mood disorders that is backed up by research. And be sure to have a lot of healthy snacks to keep the engine going, otherwise anxiety and depression will ensue. I'll answer your PM's tomorrow because I'm too tired right now. According to the OP, they're eating fruit and a bowl of cereal per day. That would be starving, yes

No I think he just meant fruit & cereal are the only things he is eating with sugar in it. Not the only thing he is eating.
