My mom thinks I might be bipolar. Especially as of late. I've already got a therapist appointment for December 5th. But I don't want to have to wait that long for an answer...

Can severe depression cause some of the same symptoms as bipolar?

I don't want to be bipolar. I really don't. My stepdad is and I don't wanna be like him. But I'm losing control of my emotions. I'm gettin gpissed over nothing, to the point that I came close to just knocking my mom's teeth down her throat.

I jsut...IDK, t here's more to it than I've written but I know most won't even read it. I'm jsut really confused. Is it just teenage bullshit? Or, could there be a more serious problem?

It's impossible to say without really knowing you.  The therapist will be able to help you work it out.  Not everyone with BPD is the same, so you might not end up anything like your stepdad if you have it.  Even if it is similar, there's so much more to a person than this one little thing that you can be whoever you want regardless.  And if you subscribe to western medicine, I believe they can help you control a lot of the symptoms of BPD.  Don't worry too much about it - there's every possibility it's just mood swings.  I know personally speaking, some of my mood swings have been as bad as or worse than the bipolar episodes my friend who has BPD has.  Good luck.

Try not to get to worried. It really could just be a teen thing. I know someone who is Bipolar, have you had any episodes? I know you said you came close to hitting your mother but that could be just from anger. I know the whole mother-daughter dynamic can be really intense. If you want to talk about the other things that have happened I would be more than willing to listen.

your depression might have something to do with that.
