Yeah i know exactly what you mean.. It gets to a point where you can't remember what it's like to feel anything else so you find comfort in the depressed feelings cos you know how to handle them...

Yeah, I think this is true because depression to me is kind of a transition stage to a new lifestyle and a new mindset. Problem is that modern society doesn't embrace this new mindset so you get really fucking lonely as I have. Not to mention that kind of shit is really daunting so its way easier to just stay in comfort.

I have done that before...I know it sounds weird but sometimes being happy gets tiring, and being comfortably depressed allows you to let your emotions out and get some of that "me" time we all need.

Yes, and I think there ought to be different words to describe it so that it doesn't sound so contradictory. I can think of 2 types that I experience 1. Depressed feelings but in tune with myself and relaxed/indifferent about the world, without being disconnected from my own feelings. I feel settled into myself. 2. Low, dull, antisocial and apathetic/lethargic state. I can be fine with this but it's not "comfortable", its just a mild discomfort that I don't mind.

Something tells me that statement is contradicting itself. I mean if you are depressed, like I am way too much, then you shouldn't be comfortable. If you are happy when depressed, you aren't really depressed, just really confused.

I don't think "comfort" encompasses happiness or enjoyment =P

I wouldn't know, but depression isn't meant to be fun. Is it?

No, even if you're depressed, you may eat or sleep a lot and do little to no work and not mind it, which sounds nice however if you're depressed, you're depressed so it cant be enjoyable.

Yeah. It sort of makes me happy in a weird way... I don't feel so numb, it's like I have more feeling when I'm depressed.
