| Yes, but when a parent walks out when you're young, you didn't know them very well. When they die, you knew them well and miss them. |

If they die at least you can hope they're in a better place. If they walk out you spend a lot of time pissed at them and some of it wondering if they're still alive. Having them walk out sounds like a lot more to handle. But I haven't had either happen so I don't really know.

| If either of my parents died I would absolutely fall apart and I'm not so sure I'd be able to put myself back together. I've had my dad walk out on me multiple times, but I know he loves me. If they walked away I'd manage, because they'd still be alive. Living and breathing somewhere. To have them simply not exist at all is one of my biggest fears, the very thought of it sets me off. |

| Walking out is worse in my opinion. My mom walked out on me, my dad, and my older brother for about 7-8 years, even though she came back, I didnt forgive her, and I still dont. Atleast when they die, you know that they cared about you(in most cases) when they walk out, their being selfish, not caring about you. |

| I know both my parents would never walk out on me. If they did then it would hurt but I love them both so much I would be happy knowing that they were makign life better for themselves. If one of them died it would be so much worse. |

| Having a parent die. If they walk out on you, they were the idiot. When they die, it's done, kaput, you're never seeing them again. 54 |

My dad died and it was, to date, the worst, hardest experience of my entire life. I had to get medicated for depression and it's fucked me up on and off for the past few years. |

Yeah... If they walk out at least there's a chance of seeing them again. |
