How do you know when a person is nearing a nervous break down? Where they might do something they wouldn't do like self harm or worse?

crying over everything or even nothing at all. that happened to me. it was like every little thing gave me a reason to think the world was against me. like once, i found out that the ice cream i ordered ran out and i went home and cried for like two hours nonstop or something. that was pretty nuts. also, i stopped talking for a long time once and communicated minimally.

they become unsocial, depressed, unusual behavior, excessive crying.

They start acting different, like more seclusive. That's what happened to me, anyway.

This.

Going past the breaking point is a nasty thing.

I know unfortunately from personal experience.
