Its the worst thing in the world and its soooo hard to ask for help.

I know that feeling all to well. I began cutting when I was fucking 12 years old. How sad is that? And I couldn't tell my parents, they didn't even know I cut until I was in the middle of High school. It is something that you hide... you don't parade around and tell people ever. I am only open about it here because
1) I can get help here without people actually knowing who I am in real life
2) To advise people who are curious to never do it. It is an addiction.

Old school AFI is some of the greatest music ever made.

Edit: And they weren't creepy looking when they sounded amazing.

...

  Are you seriously that thick?

Find me one scholar of repute who thinks that the Bible was started by one mad man.

  Good luck.

Scholar's don't know who wrote the bible. Nothing that I have ever comes across rules out the idea that it could have been started by a madman.

The possibly that the bible was started by a bunch of people high on ancient drugs. (Yes, they existed.) Has not been discredited. There are people today who get high and claim to have connections with god or a god.

Seems as if you refuse to believe in the possibility that I am right.

I do refuse because THERE IS NO EVIDENCE. If there is evidence, show it to me. Bring me scholars who think this way. I'm still waiting on that (though I've accepted that I'll be waiting a long time because those scholars do. not. exist.).

Does the possibility exist that the Bible and the beliefs therein were begun by a handful of crazies? Sure, but it's about as likely as the Bible being started by a unicorn tapdancing on the moon: that is, not at all.

And it's not likely that they were written by people enlightened by the actual creator of the universe either.

not only because there is no evidence for such a thing, but also because all of the evidence that exists points to the contrary.

Same could be said about god itself.
There's no evidence for such a thing, and the evidence seems to point to the contrary of the positive position.
To show the needlessness of a god points to the very likely event that it does not exist, or on top of that, that it cares for us.
The only reason you have faith in it is because you were taught to have faith in a book whose origins make faith pretty unreasonable to anyone with rational and humble common sense.

Entirely different situations; there is no real evidence either way for the existence of any deity, but there is concrete evidence that the writing of the Bible was neither originated nor perpetuated by a mad man or many mad men.

Well...forget mad...how about deluded?

Let me rephrase... It was written my mankind. Regardless of how many people were involved, it does not matter.

So what? That doesn't mean that God did not inspire it, only that He used people to write it.

Your straying away from my argument. My argument was that because it was written by man kind, there is an extreme possibility that it was all started by some crazy person tweaked out on drugs.

If I were to run around telling people that I had a message from god, you can be assured I'd have my own padded cell to spend some quality time in.

If you want to believe in a higher being, there is nothing wrong with that. However in my opinion, believing in the bible is like reading a fictitious novel and believing it.
