basically everything about my weekend was rubbish, me and my mum had a major fight - i never hit her, and friday night we were full on fighting. you see as my parents split in december my mum has started to drink, more themore she drinks the more aggressive she will become, i dont mean with just her fists its more of the words that come out of her mouth, i get the common phrase of 'its your fault we split up in the first place' thts what hurts the most cos im now thinkin, am i really to blame?
also i havnt seen my dad in like a month, and a month to some people is like nothing, but i havnt spoken to him or heard from him in that long, and my brother see him every friday - maybe you should know that me and my dad just dont get on.
so im thinking of talkin to my teacher tomoro about it, im hopefully thinking by getting it out i can have alot of advice that wil help me, but i would also like advice off u guys as well.
im hoping that you will respect this topic as much as i respect all your topics as i am always writing advice for other people, and i hopefully will gain respct off u guys. im not here for sympathy no matter how much people may think i want it cos i rele dont i would basically like advice on how to cope around my mum and approaching my teacher, and how not to feel so down about not seeing my dad in ages.
also its the easter soon and i want to enjoy my holidays and not be depressed for the whole of it
thanks

Im glad I can help, it just feels so helpless because there really isnt anything i can do to fix the situation, i just have to let it play out and hope for the best.

Make friends where you are and include your teacher. You need a new father for your mother or just sort out the issues with your parents in a decent way and get there moods straight to change them so you guys can cooperate. And lift your head and be confident about all of it! And fight it all, I know its easter you want badly, but I think its the ONLY way to get it right!
I wish you luck..

ricerice i understand completly what you mean, your life now is how my life used to be, well the only thing that is the same, is that my parents use me as a 'tool' in their arguements.u must be feeling quite down at the mom i remember i was, it just good to know tht someone is the same sorta position as me

Well, I think maybe you should take the initiative into talking to him, then you solve the problem about not talking to him in a while. About your mom... I just try to avoid my parents when they seem especially tense and upset, that way I don't start fighting with them, and if we do start fighting I just kind of cut it off and go into a different room, so it doesn't turn into something I don't want. Talking with a trusted teacher is a good thing, there are a couple teachers who I talk to sometimes. If you know them and they you know you pretty well, they normally wouldn't mind if you just kind of bust out saying that you would like to talk to them about something. Oh... your parents getting a divorce or splitting up is not your fault. It never was and never will be, no matter what your mom says.
I hope I helped a little.

im in a similar position. my parents fight all the time, im sure they would get a divorce if they could but they arnt very smart and neither of them have n e place to go. they fight through me all the time and i keep trying to make things better for the family but it keeps falling apart. my mom and me fight alot because shes ignornant and believes shes always right even when professionals tell her shes wrong and blames me for it. i just wish they would split up, id have to drop out of school, get a job and support myself. but if that means never seeing my parents again im all for it.

There should be some type of team at your school for this. But if you don't know about any, ask a guidance counsler or administrator (principal, vice princ, etc)
