WATERTOWN, NY -- Jefferson County, New York officials have charged 21-year-old Andrea Kline with second degree murder and unlawful disposal of a body. Prosecutors say an autopsy shows Kline killed her newborn baby boy by smashing his skull. They say she then left the dead newborn inside a trash can at a Watertown, New York motel. Kline, who is from Flint, is a junior at Western Michigan University, in Kalamazoo. It's unclear why she was in New York. She is in the Jefferson County, New York jail and is being held without bond. Police were called to the Best Western Carriage House Inn, in Watertown, Monday afternoon. Police found the baby boy dead in the trash can. Initially, Kline was charged with unlawful disposal of a body but once the autopsy results showed the baby died because of blunt force trauma to the head, prosecutors added the charge of second degree murder. Kline was arraigned on those charges Wednesday afternoon in a New York courtroom. On Kline's MySpace page, she says she graduated from Luke M Powers Catholic High School in 2004.
