Nothinggg. I never watch the new or pay attention to anything thats going on in the world. I dont even get anything about politics. Im ashamed of myself cause I see all these people trying to change the world for the better and getting all involved and I think that I should too, but all I hear is how messed up everything is and it makes me think Whats the freaking point?

You are not alone to think like that.

It's fine, as long you don't vote or offer an opinion on national or international issues.
But you really should be informed, because ignorance helps perpetuate issues.

It's good to watch the news or read it but it's not good to live on the news. Like some people get depressed b/c of the news. Like my mom we tell her not to watch it b/c before she would not miss any news at all on tv & then she would start stressing over things that she shouldn't even be stressing about.

 Every day the same things happen. Someone dies, someone this, someone that. We hear about threats, we hear about alliance, we hear about peace, we hear about hunger, etc. It's good to be aware but don't kill yourself over what's occuring though.

I could not have said it better myself. Great way of explaining it. :)

Thanks =]

nothing's going to change.

and if it does get better, it'll will just be the calm before the storm.

I like these two posts above me.

Americans too often forget that their way of life is not simply given for free. It is disrespectful to those before us to not care because we're either too lazy or too consumed with ourselves.

I don't know if you're American, but as an American your only duty as a citizen is to participate and keep informed. It's your responsibility to keep your own freedoms.
airemaye Posted at 9:30 pm on Aug. 26, 2008
It's good to be aware of what's going on.

However, you do have to be careful of where you get your information. News corporations tend to either brush off important stories or make every event sound like it's the start of WWIII.

Get information from many different sources, then form your own conclusions.

runthespread Posted at 9:27 pm on Aug. 26, 2008
It's selfish to think that you should have a right to simply not care about things in the world. That is how many Americans are, too concerned with themselves and their lives to give a shit that horrible things actually go on elsewhere. It's not until it's around you that you ask "Oh why?!"
