OK banks (states AL to MS)

One of my banks merged, the other two are okay.

They were bought by Chase. You're fine. You would have been screwed if Chase didn't buy them. Wamu was way too big for the FDIC to secure the deposits on.  However, I wouldn't put any money on Chase right now, either.  They have massive derivatives problems.

So you can consider moving your money if your bank isn't doing so hot.  It'll save you some trouble if the FDIC runs out of money, which is likely.
