Seems like the music is about to stop playing in thems neck of the woods.  Time for the city to insert another ¢.25 into the jukebox, if there is enough money that is...

The city of Scranton, Pa., sent out paychecks to its employees Friday, like it does every two weeks. But this time the checks were much smaller than usual. Mayor Chris Doherty has reduced everyone's pay — including his own — to the state's minimum wage: $7.25 an hour.

Despite the injunction, he had the city send out paychecks based on minimum wage.

Wonder if the Mayor already has his mortgage paid down so he will be able to afford to live in his house while others will not be so lucky.

Lol at running a city staff on minimum wage, fire department and police and all.  For the kind of work they do, they might as well go on strike, or just do a mass walkout at that kind of pay.  You can get a far easier job with much less responsibility to worry about at minimum wage than what they're doing now.

Is he planning in compensating back pay when/if the state gets more funds?

I think that's rather noble of Doherty and I think more politicians need to start being willing to cut their own funds and paychecks.
