"Are you depressed by the prospect of dying? Well, if you can hang on another 15 years, your life expectancy will keep rising every year faster than you're aging. And then, before the century is even half over, you can be around for the Singularity, that revolutionary transition when humans and/or machines start evolving into immortal beings with ever-improving software."

Some of these ideas are just incredible. The singularity is a day that I'd like to stick around to see. Or maybe not, but it would be very interesting to witness artificial intelligence beyond our control.
Anyone that believes the future of science can be predicted in an exact number of years is naive and ridiculous.
It's a guesstimate. Of course no one can predict the future of science precisely.
On another note, we could already copy ourselves into machines if we so desired. It'd be a mess, and what would be in the machine wouldn't be identifyable or even capable of processing, but... meh. Give it 30 years or so. As the article says, I guess.

Hell no. Have you ever seen the terminator movies?? Those things are gonna rebel against us.

Ahh, works of fiction. For machines to go on a rampage like that, they need motive. It'd make much more sense for a machine to boost its defensive capabilities as opposed to committing genocide.
thats crazy. how does that fit in with a superior being? aka God.
Science = there is none
