Like it happens... Your at school then you and all your friends move onto university and you loose touch with some of them. Today was supposed to be our awards evening, a time of celebration. No one felt like celebrating. It was like a memorial. I had tried to just forget it, even when posting about my awards evening*, I tried to kid myself that he had not died. Alas, this evening made it all too real. I hadn't really seen him since school, but it is a harsh reality. Even when at 18, the prime of your life, moving onto university - life can get taken from you. Even those of us who didn't know him too well... It hit us all.   I cannot imagine how his parents must feel. They think they've brought up a good kid, he moves onto uni, then this happens... Added to my severe dislike of awards evenings (http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-psysnb-support-a.html) it didn't make it a good day.   BUT, the icing on the very CAKE that IS the 19th of March, my girlfriend went through a rough time today. She is hurt physically and mentally. It all stacks up. My 19th birthday was Monday of this week. I just feel old now... I could use a pick-me-up

You've had the truth of life slammed home the hard way: now's the time to learn from that. See what you can gain and then move on. You don't have to let it drag you down. And as for awards ceremonies...I don't know what I can say about those that will cheer you up. I hate them too. And happy birthday, I guess. ImSoHappy Posted at 1:44 am on Mar. 20, 2008 CraziJ's right, the best thing to do is to move on, of course you must take time to grieve, everyone does, but during this period keep in mind that it won't hurt forever and life goes on. One of the things i like to keep in mind is "Don't go through life, grow through life." Somehow affected his heart. Think it was indirect. Virus >> condition >> heart.
