Ok well college has been stressing me out so much that its been putting me in a suicidal depression (althought I'm not suicidal at this momrnt, I know if I was that the rules of this forum would forbid you to help me)

Basicly it seems like each class is life or death, like if I can't finish college then I'm never gonna be able to get a good job and I'll be out on the street. And I get so worried that I'm gonna fail certain classes

My plan is that if I fail a class, that I'll retake it during the summer. At my school, if u fail a class and then retake it and pass it, your F from the first time you took it won't effect your gpa (althought it will still appear on your transcript). I'm assuming a lot of other colleges have the same policy

Basicly I just want to know what you think, how big of a deal is it to fail a college class??? If u retake it and get an A, will it really hurt you that much???

No spam please, this is really important. All spam will be reported

Thank you

It's very important to attempt to NOT fail a college course. Transcripts are very important, and one failed course is a put down upon your many passed ones, sadly.

i think if you only fail one class you will be ok

The best course of action if you think you are going to fail a class is to withdraw, and that way you will recieve a grade of W instead of an F. A W on your transcript is ten times better than an F. Then you can retake the class later.

Do what this guy says.

I think you need to talk to someone at your college. They can tell you both what it means and advise you how to avoid or deal with stress ( thousands of students have deal with this before ). Start with Counselling Services or (if they call it the same thing as here, the Registrar's office)

i think its important, because i need to pass to get into uni... i don't know much about the american system so sorry to be so useless :/

NEVER take an F in any course.

Drop it. A "w" on your transcript could mean anything but an F, well that just shows you don't care.

I feel this way too.  It sucks.  And although the option exists to retake it, I feel like that still isn't viable because it'll appear on your transcript.  But then again, my goal is to be a pharmacist, so it's like I have to be perfect.  At least if I make it through it, I'll have a good, well-paying job.
