In the UK, sure. But the OP is from the US, where people do not take GCSEs. Either the SAT or ACT is required by most schools, with the more selective ones often requiring SAT II exams (2-3) as well. Yea, but you said the SATs weren't important.  And I was just stating for someone that wants to go to a school in the US, ACT or SAT is a requirement at many (At least SAT Is).  But it's like me saying the GCSEs are pointless, it just depends on where you want to go.
