Are you moving away from home for the first time? Are you excited? What are your concerns? Post your school if you'd like. ----- SUNY Binghamton for me, and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm living four hours away from home, but  I get to room with my best friend, and I'm going to a good school. Can't wait, although I'm gonna miss NYC like crazy!

Every time I complain, I get told, "This is how it will be in college." @_@ Blah. yes, college will be about reading. but if you're willing to seek out your professor(s) for help, they will be more than happy to help you. but you can't just go to them and say "uh, i dont get it." you have to tell them specificly something that you need help with. i had the same problem. i used to read everything one paragraph at a time, and try to take notes on whatever was important in that paragraph. and i would try to understand my notes. it takes a lot of work, but it pays off in the end. lm5590 Posted at 9:59 am on May 27, 2008 i'm going to georgian court university. i'm not nervous at all. its only 20 minutes away from home. i love the campus and would want to live there, but since its a mostly all-girls college, it would be very hard to see my boyfriend. and none of my friends have cars, so i would have to keep commuting to see them anyway. i don't see the point in wasting $10,000 every year to live somewhere, plus gas mileage. Yes, I will be moving away from home for the first time but I'm sure I won't get that homesick since my brother and some of my friends will be going with me! Just Add Water Posted at 5:22 pm on May 12, 2008 It'll be my first time living away from home and I'm more nervous than I've ever felt in my entire life.  Sure, it's a wonderful new experience and all, and I couldn't be more excited, but I'm really close to my mother and it's going to be hard moving away.  Plus we live in a very small town, and I'm going to the second largest college in Missouri -- Missouri State University (Springfield).  I have a few friends and a cousin attending there next year as well, so, at least that'll help ease the change!
