Ok, so, I go to Arkansas State. Its a great college. But, im having a little problem. My roomate, Sarah. Ok, well..i need a little bit of help. Ive talked to her about the problems im having, but she doesnt really listen...and it keeps happening..

Lets start with one..
Ok, well...first, shes doesnt keep the room clean. Give her granted, im not a neat freak, but I dont want food left out and clothes just thrown all over the floor. We have a inspection coming up Monday, and Im afraid that were goin to get into trouble because the room wont be clean. Im tired of cleaning up after her, Im her roomate, not her mother.

Two:
Well, she assumes, whats mine is hers. Not even. Ive went out and bought things for me...weither it be, food, shaving cream, shampoo, toothpaste. Yeah, things like that. She takes them or uses them up, and then doesnt go by anymore. For instance, my toothpaste, two nights ago, she went to stay with her boyfriend, and she "accidentally" took my toothpaste. Well, i asked her yesterday morning to bring it back, and she said, that he was bringing her bag and shed run it back up here..she never showed. I CANNOT GO WITHOUT BRUSHING MY TEETH! Im beginning to get mad.

Three:
Well, when we started school, we both got keys to the room. Like, the second week, she lost hers. Well, she finally got her financial aid check in, and bought one of the temp. keys. Well, she comes in the other night and says, yeah, btw, our locks are getting changed. telling me i needed to pay half..im like what? you lost the key, i still have mine..well yesterday, they came and changed the lock..well..guess what..she never came home last night, so, she never brought  me the key! I personally do not want my laptop, camera, tv, etc. stolen. So, im pretty pissed i have no key to lock the door when i leave today.

Im not a mean person. But, enough is enough. She tells me im overreacting..i dont think i am. I mean, were roomates, if we have any problem with what the other person is doing, we should be able to talk and work it out. Do you think im over reacting? I dont, and she keeps telling me i am.

On this one you kind of just have to come to some agreement about who is going to clean what and follow through with that.  Make it specific too.  Don't just say "oh well you can clean that part of the room."  Say "ok every other day you can do this exactly".  If she won't listen, you need to go talk to a RA about this because it's a serious issue.
I wouldnt worry about inspection.  They just make sure you dont have alcohol laying around everywhere.  They odnt care if its clean or not.

Borrowing and not returning is stealing.  That needs to be addressed immediately.  Again, if she wont listen go to an RA to help you out.

Honestly, I would refuse to pay.  The way she handled it was totally out of line and not your fault at all.  I would not pay a cent.  If she has a problem with that she can take it up with the university
