One of my roommates and I were down at the main apartment office/lounge thing a few days ago and somehow we got to talking with a guy. Basically, he offered us a ride to Best Buy (where we needed to go) and after about 5 minutes of hesitation, me and my roommate decided to take him up on his offer. He was really nice and funny the whole ride and was super patient at Best Buy where we were for almost 2 hours. He never asked us to pay him back or anything.

So, yeah. It was pretty amazing. And kinda freaky because... who does that these days? I was honestly expecting him to pull something crazy on us the whole time, but he didn't.

Anything like this ever happened to you? It kind of restored my faith in humanity a little (a little).

(Also, I want to take him out for lunch as thanks but my roommate doesn't want to and I don't want him to think I'm flirting or anything if I'm just by myself. What do you all recommend?)

i love how people these days believe kindness is insanity

Haha, guilty as charged.

Seriously though, it's very very rare to find someone like that. At least around here.

I wouldn't do shit with him. Just take what he did and never talk to him again.

Just keep in touch with him, if anything. If you see him while you're out, just say hi or something. It sounds like he wouldn't mind that at all.
