If for some reason you don't enjoy it, you could always move in with your friend for the next school year.
See, that's the thing...if for some reason I don't enjoy it, I'm stuck there all year...and learning communities are freshman only, and one you're in, then that's it. At least when you just have a normal roommate you can switch after the first semester. |

| Since you've known your friend for so many years already, why not give the learning community a try? You might find that you really like it and I think it will help you excel in your studies. If for some reason you don't enjoy it, you could always move in with your friend for the next school year. |

So my friend called today and then called me to tell me what happened. She talked to the woman who told me that I couldn't room with my friend if I wanted to be part of the nursing learning community. What's going to happen is the woman is going to try and see if we can be put on the same floor as the learning community, but not take up one of the rooms designated for it since in the hall it's every other room. She said there's no guarantees and to check back on Monday, but at the very least, we can be put in the same dorm as the learning community.
Designated rooms? I thought a designated dorm was good enough. Why's it so important to them for people with the same major to room together? that's kinda weird. |

| Honestly, I think that we'll be great roommates! We've spent a ridiculous amount of time together doing theater and stuff, and doing that is like living together. |

| I think it's more important for you to live in the learning community. I lived in a learning community with my best friend (we have diff majors) and they constantly get direct help and attention from their department. You might not like living with your friend anyway. I hated living with mine. |

| RIMHfire - See, the thing is, I was told by multiple nursing students who were in the learning community that I should do it. Not one of them said anything bad about it. |

| SHORT VERSION FOR LAZY PEOPLE: I want to be in the nursing learning community at my college...you live with other nursing students in the dorms, on the same floor and are in classes with them. I also want to room with my friend who isn't a nursing student. I was told yesterday that I can't do that even though a couple months ago we were told we could. If that's the case, should I live with my friend or in the learning community? |

| Room with your friend, and when you have tests to study for, go to the learning community. Honestly, my school is known for nursing, so basically all the freshman girls who took nursing were together in the freshman dorms, but all they did was bitch about it. So take this as the opportunity not to be surrounded by whiners. |
