Okay, I want to know if I am justified in being upset about this. Okay, the back story: I share an apartment with my good friend. The apartment is pet friendly and my roommate has had a cat for the last year living with us. A few months ago, I found an injured cat who had obviously been someone's pet walking on the road. I took him home with me (I was at my parent's house) and asked my roommate if he could live with us. She said yes. I took him home, took him to the vet, nursed him back to health. He was well behaved. A few nights later, my roommate started angrily complaining that he was keeping her up with his meows at night. I never hear anything. I took various steps to stop the meowing (although I still never heard it) including getting him neutered and finally forcing him to sleep in a pet carrier in my room at night. Throughout this process my roommate has bitched and insisted that I get rid of the cat. Being in the carrier amplifies his complaints at night, this time I could definitely hear the meows. I wake up several times a night to his meows, but I figure that it is just a burden that I have to bear because I want to keep him safe and off the streets and can find no other home for him. I let him out in the morning to go to the bathroom and then take him back into my room. This morning, my roommate apparently heard him meowing, woke up pissed off, tossed him into my room and slammed the door. She leaves her door wide open at night so HER cat can go in and out freely. She has refused to alter her behavior at all to combat her "sensitive hearing". I have put up with her cat puking on my rug and the floor in my bedroom, destroying my couch with scratching and hair for the last year and never even complained! Now she's insisting that I get rid of him with one month left on our lease. Ugggggh.

I think you have a right to be ticked off, but so does she.
