I would suggest an intervention. Tell her how you guys feel about her actions (except the one with the scissors), discuss ways of trying to help out with each other, and sign a paper agreeing to those terms. If she doesn't go along with it, your other two roommates and yourself are obligated to tell her to move out next quarter (give her some time to move out and such). I know how you feel about dirty things and rooms- I have a neighbor whom we actually called Health and Safety for his stinch (it was so bad, our eyes watered just walking by it). Wish you good luck!

Personally, I would tough it out for one reason. If her name is on the lease, then that will be a bitch to take it off. Also, if she leaves, then you all have to make up for her rent, which will end up costing you more money. I would sit down with your roomies and have a talk with her and all the changes that she could do to make living in your apartment a little more bearable. Good luck with everything! |

Wow, that really is terrible. Maybe your roommate is depressed. Talk to her about this stuff (maybe she doesn't realize that she's untidy, especially if at home someone cleans up after her). If she is unresponsive, talk to a counselor or call her parents. Self-mutilation is dangerous and a huge warning sign.

She's not suicidal. She's just trying to get attention through self-harm. We have a meeting with our CA and one of the managers of the apartment complex. We're really hoping she's going to move out. She has an appointment with admissions today.

All of you should gang up on her and tell her you don't want her there, that she should leave, she might do, I dunno. Or she might attempt suicide again... its a very tricky situation, sorry I can't be of much help.

It's more complicated than that. We can't kick her out! She has to leave of her own free will. We've been talking to the management of the apartment complex and they won't do anything to help us besides hold a "mediation." We have one scheduled for the beginning of this week, but it's not going to solve anything. We've been asking her for over A MONTH to pitch in and it hasn't yielded any results except for defiance!
