My roommate and I have been best friends since we were
little.  She's a gossip queen, and everyone pretty much knows about it, but she doesn't realize what she's doing
But until recently, I've ignored it.  A few weeks ago, I heard from another mutual friend
that she had been telling people that I had been sleeping with one of my friends from home.
This is not even an exageration, but a complete lie.  I have a boyfriend, and this rumor got back to him
and although now he believes me, he heard the rumor from someone he trusts so he questioned me.
I realize his trust in me is a whole other issue, but I haven't confrtoned my roommate because it almost seems pointless.
I know how she is with these types of things: she will completely deny the entire thing, even if i persist on the issue.
I am really confused about what to do with this, because she's my best friend, she's lying to me, and I'm living with her.
to top it all off, I'm her maid of honor in her wedding on New Year's Eve. I have no idea what to do, because this is ridiculous...
Do I confront her and have her lie to my face, and refuse to be in her wedding?  Or do I pretend that I know nothing and just forget about it?

Well, if she is such a friend she would not spread such a rumor about you. Especially, she had knowledge of the fact it would get to your boyfriend. If you know she is lying, just confront her. You don't have to be in her wedding. If she was a real friend she would have never spreaded such a rumor, and even if she did she would apologize. If I were you, I'd confront her about it. Being in a Liar's wedding is not as important as someone out to ruin your reputation, and slandering your name.

Confront her. She knows its true, so when she denys it, she'll still feel like crap. or maybe she won't deny it. But if this is a first time thing maybe you should tell her you forgive her and say it hurt you and please don't do it again and blah blah.
