Oh, yes! I thought I was going to have just as much problems as you thought you would. I'm meeting new people everyday. Most people in my building know me but I don't know them. This is so much different than high school, and I really like it.

For me, i kind of had a hard time meeting people. The reason was because after highschool me and my parents moved like 3 hours away from where i grew up and i started at a new college. But since i lived so close i was a commuter. It seemed like everyone that dormed there made friends real easy because they all knew each other. The same was true for other commuters, because they all went to the same highschools or whatever. But me, moving into a new town and just basically going to class, it wasn't that easy meeting people. I'm kind of shy too so maybe that is why.

I never lived in the dorms (I've always had an apartment) and I've made probably 4 times the amount of friends I had in highschool- as long as you don't take yourself too seriously, find some interests, and get involved, you'll be fine. The best years of my life socially weren't high school but they are definitely right now in college. (Edited by stene at 8:30 pm on Dec. 29, 2005)

You'll be fine, you'll have a room mate and trust me the two of you will do everything together for the first little bit :) but then you'll eventually branch out, you can join clubs and other organizations on campus. And being a freshman, there will be lots of freshman orientated things especially for you :P ---and don't over look your dorm, once you move in be sure to get to know the people around you, (thats where some of my best friends came from) Don't worry, you'll do great!

I would think it would be easy to make friends seeing as most of them will probly not know many other people and will be wanting to make new friends. Loads of people feel like that just try not to be too shy cus it can sometimes put people off.
