In my dorm I get along with everyone great except there's one kid who I can tell doesn't like me for whatever reason. Normally I wouldn't care but the problem is he's good friends with the same people that I hang out with so  it's kind of uncomfortable when I'm hanging out with them and he's there. Is there anything I can do about this?

Treat others as you would have them treat you. If you have the same friends you don't exactly need to give him any reason to point out your faults. You don't have to do anything execpt acknowledge his presence and go about your business.

Just don't pay attention to him, have fun wih your friends and don't worry about what he's doing. Try to stay closer to your friends than him if you feel uncomfortable around him. Maybe you should think about talking to him and telling him that it seems like he doesn't like you, ask him if that's how he feels and why. That might help relieve some tension when he's around.

Depends on how much importance you place on changing his impression of you.  If you are willing to suck up a little bit you might be able to show him that you aren't a bad guy.  Find out things that he is interested in and ask him about them.  People like to feel important and if he finds out that you don't feel the same about him he might change.  Do something nice for him.  Something that he is not expecting from you.  Buy a pizza and ask him to share it with you.  Buy  a special imported beer and give it to him.

Hmmm.  Actually I wouldn't do that.  When I don't like someone and they try to suck up to me, it gets on my nerves.  Although only if I can tell that's what they are doing.  Also, if someone I don't normally talk to bought me a pizza I would think that was weird.  Someone bought me a beer the other day at this stupid bar I used to go to all the time and I guess he remembered me.  I don't know what he was getting at because the bartender gave me the beer and said it was from him, but he never came up and said anything to me.  I am still thinking about that actually.  Like why the hell did he buy me a beer?

just go about your own business. I don't remcommend making it their problem instead of yours, that might just make matters worse. Try to feel comfortable with your friends and that guy at the same time. So maybe they will start liking you instead. If does try to stir things up let someone know. Dont ask questions and dont talk about the situation unless its appropriate.

Make it his problem that you are there.....not yours.  Go on about your business and don't pay any attention to him.  Treat him like you don't know that he doesn't like you and see how he responds.  Don't talk about him to others...it WILL get back to him and only make things worse.
