I don't understand why the need for social interactions is so strong.
For example, I live so far out of town that I can't just get up and drive in. So I get online when I'm craving communication.
The internet is not really person to person, it's person to screen to person. But it's still a comforting solution to my lack of a current social life.
I just thought it was an interesting observation.

Humans are social creatures by design. Acting as a group leads to the exchange of information and ideas which is why many civilizations advanced more rapidly than others.

But also, humans have a tendency to comfort each other, so by seeking out other people, you also find comfort.

I know all people are not like this, I am just speaking generally.

i can relate. spending too long away from others can be weird. But then again, sometimes its nice to embrace that bittersweet feeling of not needing everybody else to stay up.
