I'm a sophomore. I've known this really great girl since the beginning of freshman year and late last semester/early this semester I sort of rekindled our friendship and hung out with her pretty often. She is a really nice Catholic girl who drinks and parties in moderation (I don't drink and rarely party).

A month ago I brought her to this show and this dance thing afterwards and we had a really fun time. The next day she texted me saying it was the most fun she had had in a while. I met up with her and told her that I liked her more than a friend (I had thought this for a longggg time and finally had the guts to tell her). To my happy surprise she told me she felt the same way and a few of her friends thought we'd be really great together.

But....the problem is that with her major she is always busy and she said she didn't feel like she'd be able to give me the time I deserved if I was in a relationship with her. Most nights during the week she's lucky if she gets more than an hour of sleep. So far on the weekends she has also been too busy with work or already had premade plans....

I haven't really seen her close to as much as I had before I told her how I felt but she has told me shes just really busy right now.

The night I told her, I gave her a kiss on the cheek cause I didn't want to be too in her face after she told me she wanted to think about if she wanted to be in a relationship. Since then I've only hung out with her/seen her a few times on weekends because shes always busy with work or other plans. One time I hung out with her for a bit when she had had like no sleep for the whole week. When I had to leave before she fell asleep, I once again gave her a kiss on the cheek and she like giggled and smiled.

Then this weekend I was planning on going out to dinner with her saturday night, but it turned out she had too much work to do....The previous night on Halloween she ended up coming to the party I was at with her girlfriends for a little bit. She was possibly slightly tipsy and I don't drink, but when she was leaving she was like I'll talk to you tomorrow and then she like thrust out her cheek for me to kiss her on it.

I'm wondering what this whole kissing on the cheek thing is all about. I definitely don't think its that she doesn't like me anymore or anything, but the first two times I tried to give her a real kiss and was given the cheek. Then at the party she like threw out her cheek like she wanted a kiss, so I complied...I really just think it may mean that she doesn't want to do more until she's sure she wants to be in a relationship.

And also she's got to still feel the same way she did a month ago if she threw out her cheek to get kissed right (though she had been drinking)? Because I really haven't been able to see her much at all and I tend to get worried that she'll start to not like me anymore...

Too busy? She would make the time if she wanted to. I have to agree with the fact that you've been put in the friend zone, but I disagree with it being permanent. Nothing is permanent.

She probably can't commit to a relationship yet, so she doesn't want you to think that she can. lucky guy, heh

You have been "lets just be friends-ded"

Friends kiss on the cheek. Especially if she's drunk, if she liked you in that way, she'd have went for a real kiss. Seriously though, a kiss on the cheek? Who is she, your grandma?

Do to your "not wanting to go too fast, ROFL" you have been permanently put in the friend zone
