It's really up to you. I know her end of the story, because my father is the same way. He can't know I'm dating, he's better off not knowing it, and he would rather not know that I am. And for that reason, I can understand your girlfriend's side. Now... in terms of cancelling dates, if they are legitimate reasons (other priorities, parents interferring, etc), then I say you have no grounds to take action on. I'm a strong believer in not having a relationship affect other priorities that you may have (such as other extra curricular activities). While it's important to have a balance, sometimes you have to deal with it. Is it possible to keep going? That's up to you and her. You CAN make it work. My boyfriend and I were long distance for 9 months, and in that time, I saw him once for two weeks and once for two days. And for about two months, I could only see him once or twice a week... and these days work and school make us rarely see each other as well. We can work it out, so it's possible. But it takes patience and commitment. You can bring it up and talk to her about it, but if she can't change it, then you either accept it, or you move on, right? Communication is key. Talking is one of the best steps to solving a problem, and who knows, it may help things out. But if you can't find a way around it, then when you DO see each other once or twice a week, just cherish that time together and make it count :).
