Sooo my boyfriend and I live together and it's been great so far (surprisingly).  He works full time about 15 min. away and I was hope since I just got done with finals on Tuesday.  I spent the day getting last minute work done and researching some stuff and I found that there was an arts festival going on downtown tonight.  He asked me earlier in the day if I knew of anything we could do tonight and I said I didn't know (at the time).

So he gets home takes a nap, while I had to go back to campus to run a few errands.  Afterward though, I really wanted to surprise him and take him to the arts fest.  I get ready to go and then he gets ready but then changes his mind when he asks, "So what does this 'surprise' involve?"  I told him it involved some walking (not intense, just you know, from display to display, nothing treacherous) and that it was best that we did it tonight as opposed to tomorrow or Sunday because it's only supposed to get hotter as the weekend progresses.  He then says, "Well, I don't really wanna do a lot of walking.  I was on my feet a lot at work."

So, like most girls would, I got a little upset.  The very time I go out of my way to surprise HIM, he shuts me down.  To make it worse, he dusts it off and rolls over and pretends to take a nap. (And eventually DOES fall asleep, after I'm even more upset).

I don't have the means to surprise him all the time, so when I do, it's a BIG thing to me.  It only goes this weekend and tonight would have been the best night to do it.

Help me out!!

I understand that the work day might have been long, but

personally i would rather sleep then go to an arts festival

Just because YOU would rather sleep doesnt mean that he would do the same thing. Did she not say that HE suggested the arts festival first??

Hun i wouldnt worry about it too much. He is a guy... (no offence guys) and they sometimes dont seem to appreciate the things that we do for them, and we have our moments too. Did you tell him that it was the arts festival that you wanted to take him to? Maybe not surprise him on a day that he worked and was on his feet... OR... you could give him a foot rub and make them feel better, relax him and then take him there?

Hope all goes well, good luck.

It doesnt say anywhere that he suggested an arts festival, he just asked her to make plans. She decided to try and surpise him, all im saying is i wouldn't be very happy if my girlfriend wanted to take me to an arts festival as a suprise.
