Okay, I'm getting ready to apply for college, which means that I'll need A LOT of money, so I was planning on applying for financial aid and trying to get all the help that I can get.

What are some of the things that they look at?  I mean...  I'll be living single, with VERY low income and what not.

To get more financial aid, you would have to have a lower income.  If the aid you get is not enough, you have to get scholarships.

How is it possible to get a lot of financial aid?

they usually look at your family income, unless you're declared an independent

Be sure to file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) before your schools deadline.  (Should be sometime in the spring.

They look at your income and your family's income, whether or not you have siblings in college, and the cost of the school you're applying for.
