Until then, my parents will be considered in terms of my FAFSA forms and the like... My only other option is getting married or joining the military or something, which aren't in my plans... I mean... I don't know why they chose 24 as a standard for every student. I moved out last year when I was 17 and a half, and I pay my own bills and the like (I live with my older sister too) and I have to give my dad money each month. And yet I have to wait 7 years before I'm considered as an independent? *sigh*. Thankfully for me, my dad will help me pay for college, but really, places make it so hard to appeal the dependency status that I wonder how hard it must be for those that WON'T get any aid from their parents.
