So far we're thinking of getting speakers and having a dance and stuff...any ideas would be AWESOME!

Replies SingDanceRunLife Posted at 11:35 am on Dec. 10, 2009 I'm in a club at my college that is pretty much the same thing as a GSA...it's called CARE (Creating Awareness Reaching Equality)... We've had movie nights, speakers, an AIDS awareness fashion show... In the spring we're going to do the Day of Silence and a bunch of other things as well. Do some new and more interesting things. 1)  Perhaps put on workshops that show how many gay men don't fit stereotypes? Perhaps get a speaker who talks about ALL sorts of diversity and many types of discrimination (race, gender, nationality, sexual orientation), and about minority discrimination AGAINST the majority, and so on. 2) See if you can find a gay chamber of commerce sort of thing in your area, perhaps you can get some professionals to talk in the high school about their jobs, and also a bit about how being gay affects their professional life (if it does).
