I know my school, Ohio University tries it's best to be as diversed as a small town college can get, so there's a few clubs that are not known in some high schools that are rather popular here.  One thing that is rather big is the LGBT programs.  I think OU did a very good job on it's program to help students come-out, be able to live freely being a LGBT, and have the support from other students.

Here's a link to OU's LGBT services page.

I was just curious how well your school handles LGBT programs or whatever.

My school (Kent State) has a decently active LGBT and Allies club called Pride!Kent. The university itself is getting better as far as acceptance goes... we now have Faculty Senate, Graduate Student Senate, and Undergraduate Student Senate behind Pride! for pushing the school to offer domestic partner benefits. And we had Margaret Cho come to the school!

But it's nowhere near perfect... there's almost nil as far as bisexual community goes. Here it feels like I'm too gay for the straight people and too straight for the gay people; people in Pride! would gladly talk to me while assuming I was a lesbian, but when I told them I was actually bi, they seemed to cool a little and find someone else to talk to. We've also had a few incidents of people being atacked on campus, which is why Pride! is stepping up on pushing for more security, more lighting, and more emergency phones around campus.

But all in all, it's a decent program. Oh, and there's also a side program Pride! does called Safe Zone, which educates faculty, staff, and Residence Hall workers about issues LGBT students have and how to help them, and also offers 'Safe Zone' signs for supportive workers and faculty to post so that students know where to go.

Well... for a few years my school was on the Princeton Review's list of top 20 schools for accepting the GLBT community. So I think it does a good job. During orientation (which is almost a week long) there are several activities and meals for the GLBT community and it's supporters as well as a huge club.
