I'm taking Baking & Pastry arts, and I love it. I get to be creative and make unique desserts. Plus if you choose to go into catering or cake decorating the money is awesome

Only a high school diploma? Not much. Everything needs a degree these days if you want to get anywhere in life.

Unless, of course, you're in the right place at the right time, win the lotto, rob a bank, or invent something.

male RN.

Nurses are being extremely well fresh out of college. Some hospitals are even paying $40,000 with moving expenses! Outrageous for just 3 years of nursing school, plus it can't be outsourced and the demand is increasing as more and more baby boomers need medical assistance.

That is one of the primary fields of job growth in the next decade.

The best thing to do is think about what you enjoy doing and think of the best way to make money out of that -like someone else said -do a 2 year course in business / computing.

I hear there's good money in computing.

Do something that you will enjoy doing. I'm sure you don't want to go to a workplace to do something you hate everyday.

Why don't you take like 1-2 years of college in computers or business? That could probably land you a decent paying job.  Maybe take the Civil Service Test and apply for a government job.  All you need is a HS Diploma, and a good score on the test to get the job.

Construction: $10-40 an hour (depending on location). Go for it. You'll for 40-60 hour weeks, rain or shine, you'll come home aching tired (don't worry, you can take up drinking to ease the pain, works for a lot of people) work your ass off for many years slowly killing yourself and destroying your body, only to never really make it any where in the world. As you enter into your mid-life you'll be physically drained (maybe to much to work, but hey disability pays well right?), emotionally fed up with working all the time and never getting past what you started with at 20, and possibly and alcoholic

Convenience store clerk: $7-15 an hour (depending on location). Great hours, all night even! Discounted cigarettes. Seldom get robbed, and may not ever get shot!

Low end cook: $6-13 an hour (depending on location) Get to take home everything that falls on the floor! Cook exotic dishes like: French fries, french toast, and more! Stylish netted head wear!

All these and more!

Get you education.
(Please no one take offence to this if they have any of the aforementioned, there are always exceptions.)

it's rare to find good jobs with just a high school education.  computer jobs are still there for 30-40K, but over the past few years MANY have been moved overseas.

if you want to make real money, the best suggestion i can give you is to get as much education as you can.  (if you are only going to be a doctor for the money, DONT.  it is NOT worth it.  i am in medical school. i know.... way too much time/debt/effort/emotional trauma/time away from family/etc to do it just for the money)

with no education..... lottery tickets, actor/actress, .... create your own business (risky but could be profitable)
