I just discovered that my great-grandfather was a Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Ohio State. I've never really considered joining a fraternity, but maybe I could carry on the family tradition. Is it easier to get in if an immediate family member was a brother?
Thanks

usually yes.
If you have any kind of family member in the frat or sorority, you are called a legacy. You get an instant bid to pledge and usually you will make it through pledging no matter how crappy you do.

Well, you'd probably be given a bid card, but getting in is a whole other story.
