Do you believe it is acceptable for people to not be involved during their college years in clubs or organizations or even sports?

I realize that everyone has their own free will and it is entirely their choice with how active they want to be.

But when it comes down to getting the better job or with managing your time, do you believe people who go most of all of their college career without joining anything are just lame"?
I definitely do.

Totally. There's other ways to meet friends/socialize. Walk around campus, talk to your peers/students/fellow classmates.

I'm not a part of any club, Sorority, Group...I'm not involved in any sports. And I get along great. The extracurriculars aren't what will get you places. Who you know, and how you handle your courses/major are.

It's acceptable to not do club's in college. And not being one doesn't mean you don't have a social life.

BUT

I don't suggest just going to college and staying in your dorm room. Most colleges have all sorts of clubs and organizations for you to join and you can probably even make one up yourself! You meet so many different people and get so many different opportunities. Last year I went to Washington, Atlanta, and Mt. Olive with two of my organizations.

Also our school has it where whatever club you are in or what not when you graduate you can print this thing off as part of a resume. It's pretty interesting.

So get involved!

I say its acceptable, but why wouldn't you.. yes you can say it is your choice *and yes, your right it is* but as a student myself and extremely involved in clubs and sports on campus I can tell you it has helped my social and academic career a lot. With clubs, I have gotten to know many of my prof.'s very well and it is easier and much more comfortable for me to come talk to them during non class hours. Plus, I have met a ton of awesome people and great friends through clubs.. look at it this way... if your at the same club meeting you must have some sort of interest in common.

I don't know. I have a feeling that in the USA clubs are a lot more important to college life than in the UK. I mean someone said above no clubs=no social life. Whereas thats just not hte case in the UK.

Sure, its acceptable, but clubs are fun!

Of course it's ok for people to be involved as much or as little as they wish in campus organizations. Some employers look for people who have been active in their college activities, if that lends some idea of better interaction with the responsibilities of the job. Others don't much care. However, I am not sure how you of all people should try to call anyone lame about anything.

Is it acceptable to not fuck multiple  girls in college?
lacrossegirl Posted at 3:07 pm on June 23, 2008
yah it acceptable not to be involved..
if your spending your extra time in clubs and such, then peoples grades might start to slip so the extra clubs wont help if there grades are bad....
