It greatly depends on the type of school you go to. For example, large public universities, I think, tend to be more of the stereotypical U.S. college with the tons of drinking and partying. Schools like Arizona State and Ohio State are known as big party schools. I go to a much more academically-inclined school with a mid-sized population, and it's definitely not like "Van Wilder" or anything. In fact, a latest student body survey revealed that half of us had not had sex this semester, and that nearly 90% have had only 1 partner. So binge-drinking and random sex do not really exist that much at my school, despite our reputation for extreme liberalness.
