So I get free high speed (we'll see.) internet at my halls. I realise that all uni's will be different, but from your experiences, do they usually block utorrent's port?

Also, how "high speed" is it? And do they have content filters?

Yes, CTC did. Well they must have, how else would they find games and stuff on people's homefiles.

Besides, this is what my sister told me. Could be completely different with your uni.

Oh really?

Shows how much attention I paid.

If they do monitor you, proxies will become your best friend.

They tend to find torrents and limewire, etc. very easily and then banhammer you from the inet for awhile.  I've used sites like megaupload/rapidshare though and haven't gotten in trouble (yet).

Ours is very high speed and I'm almost certain they don't have content filters.

My sis's university had weekly audit checks and monitor activities they're carrying out on their laptops/through their network.

So playing games etc all the time risked their Internet access

Think CTC but thousand times less strict.

What? CTC didn't have weekly audit checks. Fuck me.

I'll get so pissed off with that, if that's the case. I'll probably end up having to get virgin or something.
