Women of the world, you are not being degraded if someone tell you you're hot. You're being complimented. The only word I can think of right now that I like less than degrading is ignorant.

Other than that, the use of the word 'hot' isn't really degrading. I agree that, in most cases, it's a compliment and not a derogatory comment. But to me, a compliment is great.
