Okay, here's a quick update to my topic from yesterday.

I got a reply from my former boss, and he said he would need someone in 4-6 weeks.  I'm going to talk to my profs today, but I don't think they will raise much issue with me finishing my coursework via distance learning.  So, that means the only real issues are friends and family.

So...should I stay or should I go?

You are leaning towards one way or another I'm sure. Listen to your gut and do what you believe will benefit you the most.

Whatever your heart tells you man. Personally if your profs don't have a problem with it, then I'd go.

If you really want this job then I would say go for it. I know it will be hard for you with family and friends, but I am sure that after a few weeks there you will be able to make some new friends, the old ones and your family you can visit them from time to time and stay in contact with them via phone or internet.

It seems like a once in a 2 year opportunity and possibly once in a lifetime, and I don't think many people would want you to pass on it, on their account.
