Being a life guard during the summer is a great summer job. They make pretty good money too.

And since you're the athletic type, you can find a bunch of sport jobs at jobsinsports.com.

I was thinking of bar tending or possibly getting a job at a local gym and maybe being a personal trainer, but I don't know the policy on only working for the summer, and if those places would want to hire you knowing you are just going to leave in 2 or 3 months :-/

You just need to explain you're looking for a summer job. Some will accept, some will not. Bar tending would be okay...you could even keep that job after summer and work weekends

There are plenty of jobs available at sports centres and stuff - working with kids and organising sporting activities if that's what you'd be interested in. As someone mentioned, summer camps are always looking for new recruits.

I work as a camp director. I work with kids, have great hours, and get paid well. I am also kind of the boss.

Look for camps at the YMCA or Boys and Girls Club.
