What if someone picked a degree because that's the sort of job they want and not because of their being a lot of jobs in that field... Then what you said isn't true. 
The number of places in colleges allocated to each degree is determined by the demand of labor in that area. So, in other words, if someone picked a degree because that's the sort of job they want and not because of there being a lot of jobs in that field, that person will or will not gain admission to his choice of degree depending on his prior qualifications. |

if someone chooses to be an engineer, simply because that one person LOVES being tech savvy is quite skilled at it, but engineers are in high demand and, it is therefore, hard to get a job as one, you shall simply murder off all the engineers you are competing against. it's quite simply really. |

| Yes, it does make going into that field really pointless, unless you are extremely talented in that area, and could show a higher level of achievement. |
