Or thinking about things to pack for college.  I know about the toiletries and bedding and clothes and school supplies...but what else?

My mind is blanking...

That's you. Alot of people I know balance their free time, study time, school time, and work time just fine. To be quite honest, I'm going into my 4th year of college and couldn't name one person I know that "left their distractions at home" and spent ALL of their time studying. That's not human, and it's psycho.

I'm not saying don't have SOME fun in your time. But, for the first couple months, your life revolves around school, and socializing. Leaving your distractions at home is your best bet. Me? I'm a Junior, in University, majoring in Environmental Science, minoring in Biology and Chemistry and Criminal Justice. My 'free time' is spent studying, and doing work. And, then, the time I'm not doing that, on the weekends, is spent socializing, with my friends. I leave my distractions at home. It's almost expected of a college student. *shrugs*

Don't worry about the DVDs and CDs. You'll be spending your time studying. Leave the distractions at home.

Depends on where you're going. Always, always, always, bring a bath bucket, something like this  to carry your things when taking a shower. You'll regret not having one later.

Entertainment - movies, dvd player, something to play music, tv, FOOD (trust me, I work in a college cafeteria, and I'd reccommend you bring your own food)

Haha, oh yeah, I forgot about that stuff...Actually though, the food at my college is pretty damn good, but I'll bring some of my own anyway.
