I need to figure out my living arrangements for freshmen year.
What are people's first year experiences in the different types of campus housing?
I found this article, is it accurate? http://www.campuscompare.com/college-resources/college-trends/information-on-college-living/

I honestly wish I could have lived with a guy first year, as long as he wasn't a creep or anything. I had a sucky roommate and she said she "disapproved" of me. Whatever, lame bitch. At least I cleaned!

Our dorm was co-ed by floor. I was always up on the guy floors. Some of the girls in my dorm were lame as hell.

To be completely honest, co-ed housing isn't actually any different than single-sex housing. I know looking at it from the outside, it seems crazy, but after 2 or 3 days, you'll wonder why anyone ever thought it was a big deal. Really.

You should live in campus housing. It's one of the best ways to meet people (especially if you don't party a lot).

Colleen35 is right; co-ed dorms are really no big deal when it comes down to it.

I agree with the above.  I thought living in an all-girl dorm would be lame, but living on an all-girl floor felt like an all-girl dorm. The only thing I like about living on campus is being able to wake up in the morning and just walk to my classes instead of taking a bus or something. The bad thing is, you can end up with a sucky roommate, you'll yearn for privacy and your neighbors can affect your living experience as well as your roommate. Just do what you can to leave in the morning and come back to your room when it's time for bed.

Did they have co-ed rooms?

I stayed on campus freshman year. I liked being close to the dining hall, and I liked not having to pay bills, but I hated that RA staff. They didn't like my room whatsoever, so we were always given problems.

I was in rez first year, and there were an equal amount of things I liked/ didn't like about it. I loved the convenience of living on rez, the food was pretty good too... but I hated that every night, all night, most people would be partying (mostly my neighbours).

I was OC last year and it was pretty nice too, minus you having to make your own food.

I'm in an upper year rez this year and I love it.
