have you ever done that thing where only chid children, have you as a "big brother" or sister where you take them places like the movies, etc.? and hang out with them? for a while.

I did. I had fun. I was the big sister for 2 weeks with a little 12 year old girl named Lillian then i was big sister to a little boy named Jake he was 11.

yes! my university is really famous for having academic families. i currently have a mum, dad, two sisters, a brother and so many uncles and aunts. (mum&dads can only be in their third year, so it's absolutely great for meeting new people). and, after the first two months at uni you still haven't found an academic family, you go to the orphan bop and you can get some there. :]

Not per say, no. Most fraternities have "big brothers" that help teach their pledges about the fraternity, get comfortable on campus, and things like that. They can grow close, but there is no compulsion to hang out together if they aren't so inclined.

In school we have a buddy system. Every senior can take on a 1st year (or two) as their buddie(s). They show them around, help the fit in etc.
