| Biggest one would be to not pretend to be someone you're not. But do mature a little. Even if that means changing a few things. |

It is as simple as 1. Go to class and pay attention 2. Do your homework and assignments on time. 3. Study for your assessments. Partying, friends, clubs, etc. all come second to those three things. |

- Seek out a few friends that have the same major with you; from now on, try to studying with only those people. Because of the competitiveness of college, you should not trust anyone. Always seek confirmation of information with at least 2 people or a professor before trusting it.
Varies by school/major/program/etc. You just went somewhere with a shitty student environment. |

For any assignment, always do more than what was requested. This worked for me very well:)
I wouldn't suggest that. Sometimes, some professors want only what they've asked for, and if you go over, they will mark off. Do what you're told, and, if the professor grants permission for further research, do so, only then. MrIndigo: What's a 'curved' class?

Wtf. That's a new one. |

- Read your textbook and reference books - Go to office hours if there's anything you don't understand - If financially possible, get your own place - Do not take a overload in the first year, just take the average load or lower to get used to the atmosphere. - After being in class for a couple of weeks, identify people who you think are smart or are good at the subject, study together! - In a curved class, keep your study groups small, generally keep it under 4 people. As the better performance of others hurt your own chances of getting a good grade. - Seek out a few friends that have the same major with you; from now on, try to studying with only those people. Because of the competitiveness of college, you should not trust anyone. Always seek confirmation of information with at least 2 people or a professor before trusting it. - If you're doing a lab in a curved class, DO NOT EVER, EVER let your lab set-up to be unguarded. - It's fine to go the parties and stuff, but avoid getting very drunk (which often leads to doing stupid stuff). - Frats are just organized drinking; you're free to go to their parties anyways, so don't bother joining. |

| go to class and office hours. It's amazing how much better your grades are if you actually care and put in some effort. |

| i am in the same situation (aboutt o start college) and i have heard a bunch 1. Always go to class 2. talk to your roommate in the beginning about what you can and cant handle 3. dont assume the insta-friends you make at the beginning of freshman year are real friends, they might be, but they might be desperate and lonely, like everyone. |
