I went to the funeral today. It was hard seeing his children, they were so young and the youngest waved buh-bye to his daddy. I heard the daughter say, "I love you daddy" as they lowered his casket into the ground. It is just so hard to imagine that our world is so full of hate. To kill a man outside his home before he goes to work. He was a reverend before he got involved with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, he didn't even patrol, he worked the jails.

It makes me worry about my boyfriend. He patrols a lot, and even though he says I shouldn't worry, I do. I just love him so much. When I saw his wife, I felt heart broken, she never fathomed that she would be there. Watching her just cling to her children, and then to hear the sobs as they lowered his body, it was just so emotional. We were in the procession, my boyfriend and I. We were the only ones from my boyfriend's department. We saw Sheriff Lee Bacca and other dignitaries.

But it was just so hard to see those little children. They were robbed from a father. That family was robbed of a husband, a son, a nephew, and most of all a father. Those kids will never play with their dad, will never have him help them with their homework and that little girl? Her daddy will never be able to give her away on her wedding day.

This is a tragedy. We lost a invaluable Los Angeles Sherff Deputy, and a brother in faith.

I would like to share some pictures with you guys, but they will be in an album dedicated to his memory. Just remember you are so blessed to be alive right now. The family of Sheriff Deputy Juan Abel Escalante, would do anything to see him smile, kiss his children good night, or embrace his wife, Celeste, once more. It's hard and harsh. Every day we get, it is a blessing from God. So please pray for his family, especially his children.

I'm so worried about losing the people I love.

I'm already stressed enough as is. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. In my thoughts are prayers though.
