What about, when you're with a friend at lunch or something, and you two go up to a group of people, introduce yourself by saying "hey! i'm soandso" in a friendly tone. Just be friendly and open yourself to others. Try to be somewhat outgoing in class and maybe try joining clubs and stuff. Get yourself some confidence. :) Good luck!
