Anybody who thinks something is true because it's written in the bible is a fool. The thing has been re-written and translated so many times over the last 2000 years, it's impossible to accredit it.

Do you know how new books were made before the printing press was invented? People copied the original word-for-word by hand. The bible has been lost in translation and who's to say that the people copying it actually copied it correctly? Who's to say the copiers didn't insert their own little tidbits?

Bottom line, the bible is worthless dribble.

So I'm assuming you've seen the original copy, then.

Nobody has. It doesn't exist.

"Reputable" is the wrong word. We should consider reliability, credibility of the author and the authenticity of the source.

The Bible presumably scores with a big range in these terms, some parts very poorly and others relatively highly, due to the number of authors and its age. It really depends on what you're using the source for, then you can apply historiography properly.

That's not a very convincing argument.

cept me... I actually believe in an energy field which connects all life, aka the Force.

You know the force is bacteria in the blood called miticlorians or something like that, right?

No, the Force is what me and all you other Jedis have. Don't diss the Force. It is divine. It is THE FORCE =O

Who says nobody believes Star Wars actually happened? I do believe that I am somebody.

He is not dissing. They actually talked about the relation between miticlorians and force in the SW movies.

It's not worthless you idiot. It's the greatest work of fiction ever created.
Agreed.

I'd say Lord of the Rings is better...

the bible isnt meant to be taken literally like that
like why the hell does it matter if its been re written?  its the same messages just probably reworked to be better understood

Noooope

Some people changed some parts of the bible over time.

Theres evidence somewhere, i learnt it in history class once.

I can't actually remember. Shows how credible my contribution is

some parts
small parts
not big enough parts to make any sort of difference on the meaning it presents
