What are some good reasons religion should not be allowed in public schools and for those opposed some good reasons why it should.

It is good to teach them as student will respect other's faith more

why is religious faith deserving of respect to begin with?

Because it is the lack of recpect that bring on the tension

you know verry little about faith

no, but i'll concede that you've trumped me on circular reasoning (we should respect religion because otherwise the religious will get indignant therefore religion deserves respect)

Actually it's because my left big toe understands more about science and religion than you do.

Were they illegitimate births?
Because I hardly see it as a big deal if someone who is married aged 16-19 is having children, and since in that graph significant numbers seem to be married at the time..

My thoughts as well. It also doesn't say specifically what age these people are...presumably, they could have been a pair of 18 or 19 year-olds who were married straight out of high school and started having kids right away. The statistics here are simply rather unclear.

in the fifties and before when we had religion in schools we didn't have as many drug users, alchoholics, teen pregnancies, etc. that's why.
Wrong, teen pregnancy rates were considerably higher back then.

I don't know about the alcohol and drug rates but I don't think you're basing that on anything more than hearsay either.

Source? For either, really.

Bearsy Posted at 5:28 am on Oct. 25, 2008
And they do teach about religions in schools, haven't you people had social studies classes?

No, I said it was contradictory to human behavior. You said it was to nature because that's how things currently are and thus are supposed to be.

And sorry I thought you were supporting how things were.

Why did you bother saying anything then? I know how the system works, if you just wanted to repeat how it works you wasted your time...And I said how mature because you were basically saying fear things that are different from you because some things are dangerous.

We were discussing whether or not unconditional love of the unknown is contradictory to human nature. I argued my point, and you suddenly decided to bite my head off for being morally destitute and immature.
