It was completley awkward because I'm agnostic/athiest and didn't know how to tell her no, I'm completley not interested in reading that. Before I could say anything though, this one girl (who also happens to be someone I hate) started making terrible remarks about athiests and then the whole class started. Then the girl looked at me and said, "Good thing you're not an athiest, huh?" and gave me this terrible little smirk. I wanted to curl up in a ball and die. There's no way she could know since I haven't told anyone and...shit. Atheism is so looked down upon where I live its not something I want to shout to the world. Ugh.

Everyone hates gay people, hates pregnant teenagers (although there are quite a lot), hates Athiests, hates liberals. No one is open-minded enough not to hate people just because they're different. Then when people around you hear about it, they give you this look and say, "WHAT? You don't believe in GOD?" Don't worry about it. If you're not religious, then you're not religious. Don't let her make you feel like you're weird or let them alienate you. No one knows for sure what happens anyway, and atheism makes more sense in the long run. I'm an atheist, and personally I don't like getting into convos about religion...but when it happens and people tell me crap like that, I tell them that people are allowed to choose for themselves what they may or may not believe in. Just be who you are, it's not that hard.
